This is actually day three of "Leg's" Llama Tick Paralysis problem. We had to go into town today and arrived back at 5:00 PM.
No "Legs" around the house, nor up the hill behind the log cabin, nor near the beach. So we started a search.
Sure enough. There was "Legs" in the back fence area looking longingly at the females. I could see no problem with his walking gait nor his stance. Surely he is weak right now from the experience and will need time to fully recuperate, but the change from yesterday is remarkable. We did "catch" the problem before the paralysis moved from the back legs to the front legs , and then it could have moved to the respiratory area and then a llama could easily die.
Just remove a small bloated tick, and voila...one can have a healthy llama again.... that is, one well on his road to recovery.
